Worldwide Team Collaboration Application Market Shares, 2021: Connecting the Whole Enterprise

This IDC study examines the vendor revenue performance in the team collaboration applications market for 2021.Team collaboration applications connect people, work, the assets of work, processes, often to create a personalized single pane of glass - a modern workspace. They make the stream of work digital while adding improved communications and security and enable the ability to work from anywhere with increased personal and group productivity. These were all identified as the most frequent benefits of integrated collaboration platforms (see IDC's Annual Collaboration Survey, 2022, IDC #US47735822, May 2022). "Collaboration, communications, and business on the whole is on a digital journey," according to Wayne Kurtzman, research vice president of Social and Collaboration applications at IDC. "The future of collaboration is more visual, a team sport with more customers and partners actively collaborating with B2B and B2C enterprises. Collaboration is the activities people take for a common purpose. The right technologies help these activities scale and, in the process, create new intelligent metrics that are no longer rooted in the industrial era."
