Worldwide Business Use Tablet Forecast, 2022-2026

This IDC study presents the five-year forecast for worldwide business use tablet shipments by operating system and user type (consumer, individual liable, and corporate liable). It is part of IDC's continuing research with respect to mobile devices. Findings in this document are based on information gathered from primary and secondary sources during the past six months."While tablets provide business users with a large interactive portable screen, they simply do not enable the same level of productivity as a PC or the convenience and ubiquity of a smartphone," says Bryan Bassett, senior analyst, IDC's Enterprise Mobility: Workspace and Deployment Strategies program. "Therefore, tablet deployments in the enterprise must emphasize their core strengths, such as their ability to display large amounts of interactive data to users in a variety of ways. Tablets excel in driving employee engagement and customer interaction and should be deployed in scenarios designed to maximize their flexibility."
