China installed 295,000 industrial robots in 2024, 54% of global deployments and the highest annual total ever recorded by a single country. India installed a record 9,100 robots the same year, ranking sixth worldwide.
Europe held the second-largest regional market in 2025, anchored by Germany's automotive and industrial machinery base; Germany installed 26,982 industrial robots in 2024, representing 32% of Europe's total.
Robotics-as-a-Service is reshaping how smaller operators access automation, converting large capital purchases into monthly costs. RaaS deployments for professional service robots grew 42% in 2024, according to the IFR, outpacing traditional sales channels.
Structural labor shortages continue to push adoption. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates nearly 1 million annual job openings in production occupations through 2034, a gap manufacturers are increasingly filling with automation rather than headcount.
