The global AI-based personalization engines market stood at USD 466.6 billion in 2025 and is on track to hit USD 695.7 billion by 2032, expanding at a 5.9% CAGR over the forecast period. Machine learning, generative AI, and natural language processing are increasingly woven into website experiences, mobile apps, and CRM-driven marketing, turning personalization from a nice-to-have marketing add-on into a core piece of enterprise digital infrastructure.
Much of this momentum traces back to how fast commerce has moved online. U.S. e-commerce sales reached USD 1,233.7 billion in 2025, up 5.4% year over year and now representing 16.4% of total retail sales, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. That volume of transactional and behavioral data gives personalization algorithms far more to learn from.
Enterprises are keeping pace. OECD figures show AI adoption among member-country firms climbing from 14.2% in 2024 to 20.2% in 2025, a clear sign that recommendation and personalization tools are moving from experimental to mainstream.
Key Insights
Personalization vendors are winning business across a widening set of segments, technologies, and regions, while a small group of established players continues to shape where the market goes next.
Software still leads on the component side, holding a 75% share in 2025 as enterprises lean on scalable, cloud-based platforms that plug into CRM, e-commerce, and customer data platform ecosystems.
Services, however, are catching up fast. Rising demand for implementation support, system integration, and AI model customization is pushing this category to a 6.1% CAGR, faster than software itself.
Cloud deployment dominates delivery models with an 80% share and also posts the quickest growth, at roughly 6.0% CAGR, thanks to lower upfront costs and easier scaling than on-premises alternatives.
On the technology front, machine learning and deep learning remain the backbone of the market, commanding a 25% share as the primary engine behind recommendation accuracy and real-time personalization.
Generative AI is the one to watch. It's forecast to grow at approximately 6.4% CAGR, the fastest of any technology segment, as enterprises put large language models to work generating content, powering conversational interfaces, and running personalized marketing at scale.
Website personalization remains the largest application area at 35% share, a reflection of how long businesses have treated the website as their primary digital storefront before extending personalization elsewhere.
Mobile app personalization is now the fastest-growing application, riding a wave of mobile-first engagement worldwide.
Retail and e-commerce lead end-use adoption with a 25% share, driven by product recommendations, dynamic pricing, and the direct line between personalization and conversion.
Healthcare and life sciences is the fastest-growing end-use vertical, as AI-driven personalization finds new ground in treatment planning, medication adherence, and digital patient engagement.
Geographically, North America commands the largest share at 40%, underpinned by a concentration of major cloud and enterprise software vendors and more than a decade of CRM and cloud-platform investment. Within the region, the U.S. is both the largest and fastest-growing market, fueled by domestic hyperscale cloud providers and deep venture capital availability for martech startups. Asia-Pacific, meanwhile, is the fastest-growing region overall at an estimated 6.8% CAGR, propelled by rapid e-commerce expansion and government-backed AI investment across China, India, and Southeast Asia, with China standing as the region's largest individual market.
Competitively, the space remains fragmented rather than dominated by any single vendor. Adobe Inc., Salesforce, SAP SE, Bloomreach, CleverTap, and Insider all hold meaningful positions, competing on generative AI integration, real-time decisioning, and industry-specific capabilities. Recent moves underscore how fast the competitive picture is shifting: Salesforce launched Intent-Aware Search within Agentforce Commerce in March 2026 following its Cimulate acquisition, Adobe rolled out its CX Enterprise agentic AI system in April 2026, and Zeta Global partnered with Palantir Technologies in June 2026 to build a unified enterprise AI infrastructure layer for customer intelligence and personalization.
