Driven by the strong sales of Tesla vehicles, SiC-MOSFET power chips used for NEVs are expected to maintain a high growth rate by 2023. At the same time, an increasing number of automotive manufacturers are incorporating SiC-MOSFETs into key electronic control components of their models, such as on-board chargers (OBC), inverters, and DCDC converters, to enhance overall driving range. The development of the power semiconductor industry is currently led by IDMs. However, the low yield of SiC materials and the higher cost compared to traditional IGBT chips are still regarded as constraints.
