Cured-In-Place Pipe Market is estimated to be valued at USD 3.21 Bn in 2026 and is expected to reach USD 4.50 Bn by 2033, growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 4.9% from 2026 to 2033.

Report Coverage Report Details
Base Year: 2025 Market Size in 2026: USD 3.21 Bn
Historical Data for: 2020 To 2024 Forecast Period: 2026 To 2033
Forecast Period 2026 to 2033 CAGR: 4.90% 2033 Value Projection: USD 4.50 Bn

The market is undergoing steady transformation, mainly driven by the increasing rehabilitation of aging water, wastewater, sewer, and stormwater pipeline networks, growing adoption of trenchless pipe-repair technologies, rising municipal infrastructure expenditure, and the need to reduce excavation costs, traffic disruption, surface restoration requirements, and project-completion time.

Cured-in-place pipe, or CIPP, is a trenchless pipeline rehabilitation technology in which a resin-saturated flexible liner is inserted into an existing damaged pipeline and cured using hot water, steam, ultraviolet light, or other curing methods. The process creates a structurally reinforced pipe within the existing host pipeline without requiring complete excavation or replacement. CIPP systems are increasingly used for municipal sewers, wastewater pipelines, stormwater drains, culverts, potable-water pipelines, industrial pipelines, lateral connections, and pressure-pipe systems.

Utilities and infrastructure authorities are increasingly focusing on planned asset-management and preventive rehabilitation programs to extend pipeline service life, control leakage and infiltration, and reduce the risk of structural pipeline failure. Polyester and vinyl-ester resins, polyester and glass fabrics, nonwoven liners, polypropylene coatings, and steam- and UV-based curing systems are central components of CIPP installations.

Technological developments such as UV-cured liners, digitally controlled curing systems, fibre-optic temperature monitoring, low-emission resin formulations, advanced composite liners, and environmentally efficient rehabilitation methods are improving installation speed, curing consistency, structural performance, and quality assurance. These developments are also broadening the application of CIPP systems beyond conventional gravity sewers toward potable-water, industrial, and pressure-pipeline rehabilitation.

Market Dynamics

The market is witnessing sustained momentum owing to the continued deterioration of underground water and sewer networks. A significant proportion of pipeline infrastructure across developed economies was installed several decades ago and is approaching or exceeding its intended service life. This has increased the occurrence of pipeline cracking, corrosion, leakage, root intrusion, groundwater infiltration, joint displacement, and structural collapse.

The expansion of government-supported water and wastewater infrastructure programs is further strengthening market growth. Municipal authorities and public utilities are investing in sewer rehabilitation, drinking-water improvement, stormwater management, and wastewater-treatment infrastructure. CIPP technology offers an attractive solution for such projects because it reduces excavation, road closures, reinstatement costs, environmental disturbance, and disruption to surrounding communities.

The growing preference for trenchless pipeline rehabilitation is also supporting market development. Conventional open-cut replacement can involve extensive digging, traffic diversion, business disruption, surface restoration, and longer construction schedules. In comparison, CIPP systems can rehabilitate structurally deteriorated pipelines through existing access points, allowing projects to be completed more rapidly and with limited surface disturbance.

Demand for steam-cured and UV-cured CIPP systems is increasing due to their shorter curing cycles, controlled installation conditions, and suitability for time-sensitive infrastructure projects. UV curing is gaining particular attention because it provides consistent curing, reduces water usage, minimizes dependence on boilers and water-heating equipment, and allows contractors to record curing parameters for quality-control purposes.

Digital curing-monitoring solutions are improving installation reliability by recording temperature and curing conditions across the liner length. These systems help installation contractors identify curing irregularities in real time, reduce the risk of incomplete curing, maintain installation records, and improve compliance with project specifications.

However, market expansion may be restrained by high initial equipment costs, dependence on trained installation professionals, risks associated with improper resin impregnation or curing, environmental concerns regarding styrene emissions, and competition from alternative rehabilitation methods such as slip lining, spray-in-place pipe, pipe bursting, and mechanical point repairs.

North America is expected to remain the leading regional market, supported by aging pipeline infrastructure, an established trenchless rehabilitation industry, municipal infrastructure financing, and continued investment in wastewater and drinking-water systems. Asia Pacific is anticipated to record comparatively faster growth due to rapid urbanization, sewerage-network expansion, underground infrastructure modernization, and increasing expenditure on water and wastewater projects.
