In 2017, the production of lighting fixtures in the EU17 countries registered an increase of 3.1%, reaching a total value of EUR 11,474 million. As for consumption, a total value of EUR 15 billion was recorded in the Europe 17 countries during 2017 (+2.2% compared to 2016). Growth has been by +2.9% and +1.8%, respectively, in the consumer and in the professional market.
Lighting fixtures market has grown by 10% in the LED segment, while sales of conventional lighting sources contracted by 10%. Market share rose for Philips Lighting (from 7.7% to 9.2% between 2012 and 2017), Osram, Fagerhult, Eglo, Trilux, Briloner, Trio, and Linea Light.
