The MENA region accounts for the largest share of the global pipeline value, with 40.6% of the total pipeline value ($236.7 billion), reflecting the region's increasing dependence on the desalination of seawater and the recycling of wastewater for its supply of potable water. Projects in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries constitute a significant majority of the MENA's pipeline.
