GlobalData's "Global platinum Mining to 2035" provides a comprehensive coverage on the global platinum industry. It provides historical and forecast data on platinum production by country, production by company, reserves by country and world platinum prices. The report also includes a demand drivers section providing information on factors that are affecting the global platinum industry. It further profiles major platinum producers, information on the major active, planned and exploration projects by region.
Global platinum production declined by 4.1% in 2025 to 6,090.4 thousand ounces (koz), reflecting broad-based weakness across key producing countries. South Africa, the US, Canada and Zimbabwe contributed the most to the contraction, as operational disruptions, reserve depletion, lower ore grades and mine closures weighed on output.
Looking ahead, global platinum production is expected to recover by 1.2% in 2026 to 6,166.5koz. The recovery will be supported by improved output in South Africa and Zimbabwe, mine commissioning in Russia and a modest increase in the US production. However, continued declines in Canada are expected to partially offset these gains.
