This IDC study shows that dentsu saw global net revenue rise just 0.5% organically in 2025, with the Japan home territory's healthy 6.2% growth cancelled out by declines in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia/Pacific outside Japan. A new CEO - Takeshi Sano - is looking to simplify senior management structures and drive greater synergies between Japan and the underperforming international territories. After deciding against pursuing a possible breakup in late 2025, dentsu under Sano is doubling down on global integration. However, if it cannot drive learnings and best practices between Japan and the rest of the world aggressively enough, a significant divestment may be on the cards again.
