Worldwide Business Use Smartphone Forecast Update, 2023-2027

This IDC study presents the five-year forecast for the worldwide business use of smartphone shipments by operating system (Android and iOS) and user type (consumer, individual liable, and corporate liable). It is part of IDC's continuing research on mobile devices. Findings in this document are based on information gathered from primary and secondary sources during the past six months."Both IL and CL devices are staying deployed in the enterprise for longer periods of time," said Bryan Bassett, research manager, IDC's Enterprise Mobility: Workspace and Deployment Strategies program. "Consumer demand for new smartphones has weakened in the face of prolonged inflation, and businesses are hoping to extend corporate device life cycles to as long as three years. While a complete reversal of these trends is unlikely over the forecast period, CL device shipments are expected to remain stable with modest growth through 2027."
