Recombinant Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (rCR) is a genetically engineered quantitative bacterial endotoxin test. This test is independent of horseshoe crab blood resources, thus meeting sustainability goals. It fully mimics the enzyme-linked reaction of natural Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL), including Factor C, Factor B, and procoagulant. It is the only endotoxin test reagent that utilizes the same enzyme-linked reaction as natural Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL) while eliminating the cross-reaction with 1,3-B-D-glucan that can cause false-positive results.
Recombinant Factor C (rFC) is the first component of the in vitro recombinant Limulus Amebocyte Lysate coagulation cascade: Factor C. Activated Factor C directly cleaves a fluorescent substrate, generating a signal that is detected by a fluorescence microplate reader. Compared to natural Limulus Amebocyte Lysate (LAL), the recombinant Factor C method utilizes only one reaction mechanism.
Global 5 largest manufacturers of Recombinant Limulus and Recombinant Factor C Reagent are Lonza, Biomerieux, Associates of Cape Cod (ACC), FUJIFILM Wako and Xiamen Bioendo Technology, which make up about 30%. Among them, Lonza is the leader with about 40% market share. North America is the largest market, with a share about 46%, followed by Europe and China, with share about 35% and 7%. In terms of product type, recombinant factor C occupy the largest share of the total market, about 77%. And in terms of product application, the largest application is Pharmaceutical, followed by Medical Devices.
