The 31th edition of CSIL Report The European market for kitchen furniture offers an accurate comprehensive picture of the kitchen furniture industry in 30 EU countries, providing data and 2015-2020 trends (both in value and in volume) in kitchen furniture production and consumption, imports and exports, at European level as a whole and for each country considered, for the total sector and by six price range groups. Marketing policies, the main macroeconomic indicators necessary to analyse the performance of the sector for the last six years and forecasts for the years 2021-2024, an analysis of the supply structure and the competitive system, and an overview of the distribution system are also provided. The value and weight of the built-in appliances on the domestic sales of kitchen furniture are considered, too.

The European kitchen furniture production (30 EU countries) amounts to around 6,755 thousand units manufactured in 2020, for a market value (at factory price) of about Eur 16 billion, a -2.9% decrease in comparison to 2019, -7% in terms of quantities.
Of these 6.8 million units, around 1.3 million kitchens (valued at Eur 3.9 billion) were exported by manufacturing countries (mainly Germany and Italy).
From 2017 to 2020 the upper-end market can be considered pretty stable (including altogether middle-upper, upper and luxury market, around 950 thousand units); middle-low and middle end market increased, from 3 million units to 3.2 million units; lower end units decreased, from 2.6-2.7 million units to less than 2.5 million units.
Average EBITDA margin for our kitchen manufacturer sample is around 8%. Top players in the European kitchen furniture market include Ikea, H?cker K?chen, Howdens Joinery, Nobia, Nobilia, Schmidt, Sch?ller, Veneta Cucine. Kitchen specialists hold a market share of 45% in value.
